There are three aspects of existence, which are found in all ancient cultures: the principle of Creation, that of Conservation and that of Destruction. I would like to create a work that encompasses these three aspects in a single image: the creation, with its visual dimension; the conservation, in the choice of materials and the durability of the work over time; the destruction, as the action of time and space on the work. In the changes of nature, I find the continuous succession of these dimensions, and one interpenetrates the other. I try to paint a radical realism, a photographic realism, not an end in itself but functional, because I believe that the contrast between the aspect of strong realism and the brutality of the crack, creates a tension within which there is the precise emotion that I want to obtain: the lasting beauty.
