“Guarda che aroma” is a group exhibition dedicated to one of the five most mysterious and least explored senses: the sense of smell. An intangible, volatile sense that can nevertheless leave deep and indelible traces in our memory. It is precisely from the desire to give form to something that, by its very nature, has no form that this exhibition project was born: eight artists and eight different interpretations of the theme of smell, invited to translate aromas, fragrances, sensations and memories into the visual language. A journey that moves between figuration and suggestion, between matter and imagination, questioning the possibility of making the invisible visible.
The eight artists invited to reflect on this theme are: Veronica Azzinari, with Chimica della primavera; Massimo Barlettani, with Histoire du perlage; Matteo Cocci, with Svegliatemi dal sonno biraconi; Marco Manzella, with Memoria di un aroma floreale; Elisa Mearelli, with L’odore della luna; Flavia Robalo, with Nutrimento; Alessandro Reggioli, with 88 nasimonovarietali; and Isabella Staino, with Profumi imprigionati.
The artworks are accompanied by an olfactory experience that introduces aromas and fragrances associated with the world of wine into the exhibition journey. This gives rise to an original collaboration with Gianluca Passaponti, sommelier and FISAR lecturer, who worked alongside the artists in developing a journey that brings art and wine into dialogue in a new, intriguing and multisensory way. The sense of smell thus becomes a bridge between different forms of expression, a shared territory where image, fragrance, taste and emotion can meet.
Galleria Sensi Arte therefore offers an experience that invites visitors not merely to look, but to perceive. Because an aroma, like a work of art, can become a story; it can awaken something we believed we had forgotten and return a distant presence to our memory.
